Trusting God enough to forgive people - 3

 Dear Single Mum

It's important to remember that we will all be held accountable for our actions when we face God. There is no escaping this bit.

The Scriptures teach us that even our careless words will be judged. While some may view (mere careless words)  this as a far cry from the intentional harm and loss of life that others have caused, the standard set by God is unchanging.

Careless Words , Murder all will be Judged equally and the Standard is as laid out in the Scriptures.

When someone hurts us and appears unrepentant in the face of that injustice, we may turn to comforting thoughts such as "God is merciful towards them " , "He isn't willing that all should perish but Live " etc.

However, I would like to bring your attention to the idea of Divine Retribution.

There is Divine Retribution and this should make you understand that wasting time and energy holding on to the hurt and discomfort that may have come to you as a result of past actions by another may be unnecessary.

Infact ,the revenge that you may have plotted (which may not even see the light of the day) may be small and insignificant compare to that which God may have already prescribed for them.

The same goes for those that you have also wronged.
Scary isn't it ?
Revelations 15 vs 3 describes God as Being Just and true - with Justice being one of His attributes.
May the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 51 be swift on our lips
May we understand the full implication of what our Actions may cost others.
May we be quick to go on our Knee in Prayer of forgiveness.
May we get to God before the Cries of those we have hurt get to Him first.

Duro Owodunni Dear Single Mum.
